Mp3pro is different from the norm in that it allows for file sizes to be one-half of what they would regularly be and still retain the fidelity. The file type is still .mp3. This means, all mp3 players will play this format, but one needs to decode it in order to hear it at its optimal quality.
Where does one get the decoder? If you use WinAmp you can download here, install it in the software's plug-ins folder of and restart your WinAmp.
OS X users can download Audion, which already has the decoder as part of the client.
On the Unix platform, one can go here to learn how to play the files.
As we are not-for-profit, storage space is limited. This is why we broadcast in mp3pro.
Just as there are many .mp3 players on the market, there will be as many solutions for listening to this format. We only present the above as examples. WinAmp and Audion allow for skinning, which is one of the reason we chose to highlight it.
Our faves are this one for WinAmp and this one for Audion!
If you need further elucidation on the topic, the entire mp3pro process is explained here.
Of course, none of this has import if you just want to listen to music, no matter the quality. As stated before, ALL .mp3 software will play mp3pro. Use whatever you would normally to listen to internet radio.
Hope this helps.
